At this year’s Ngā Wāhi Auaha Creative Spaces Conference, one of the core themes was the power of storytelling, how it fosters connection, drives change, and builds stronger communities. This session equipped attendee with practical tools to effectively capture and share their own stories.
In this keynote, Alice Nash delivers a powerful message: “Don’t give up on your dreams.” She shares an inspiring story, offering a window into Aotearoa’s rich musical history and how one narrative united a nation in the face of adversity.
Alice Nash currently serves as the Executive Director of Arts Investment at Creative Australia, overseeing direct investments including strategic multi-year and project funding. Prior to this role, she spent 18 years as the Executive Producer and Co-CEO of Back to Back Theatre in Geelong, a company renowned for its ensemble of actors with intellectual disabilities. She is also a founding member and former Deputy Chair of Theatre Network Australia, serving for nine years. Alice has made significant contributions to policies supporting arts and disability practices across Australia.
Creative Australia, formerly known as the Australia Council for the Arts and the Australia Council, is the country's official arts council, serving as an arts funding and advisory body for the Government of Australia.
